The Visible Spectrum
In section.01:OneThing we said that our eyes were sensitive to electromagnetic energy at only a very specific range of frequencies, we call this range The Visible Spectrum. This is actually a small region or band of a much larger subject called The Electromagnetic Spectrum. The EM spectrum is the range of all possible waves of EM radiation. Though different criteria are used to talk about these waves, generally we classify (define by dividing into smaller groups) the bands of the EM spectrum based on the lengths of the radiated waves.
Due to physical limitations, our eyes are sensitive to only a small band of wavelengths. In other words, our eyes are made of flesh, they are organic and imperfect. That our eyes evolved to the point that we can see even this little bit of the EM spectrum, is just one more testament to the miracle of life.
